State Senate District Profiles

I've started profiling the State Senate districts of Michigan. They aren't as hyped up as Congress, but there are several competitive and potentially competitive races here.

The first eight are completed. These are all in Wayne County.

Here’s a great video of the man you want to lead our state. Who says money can’t buy everything. How about the governorship of Michigan? Not if the sane people of Michigan have a say. Also, check out a quality blog.

Kevins, why don't you go get a life. You are a fool and nobody cares to read your idiotic posts. You are a small individual that, along with the other lefists, will be viewed by history as the worthless neysayers and antagonists that you are. You are a politcal hack and that is all. You, nor your foolish state elected officials (Granholm and Stabenow) have the ability to be true statesman. If you weren't such a close minded hack you could see our current governor does not have the leadership ability necessary to lead our state. You can try to put your politcal spin on it, but the fact is she has failed. We need new leadership now! She may be a nice person, maybe even a talented lawyer, but she was not and is not ready for prime time. Anyone with any sense recognizes that, which is why she pols well under 50% in a dem leaning state.

Despite all the name calling, anonymous, I’ll ignore it. It speaks for itself.
But what qualifies dick devos to be the governor, and what has he ever been successful at? He reminds all too much of the incompetent guy we’re stuck with in the White House now.

You mean the incompetent guy who left the WH in 2001. Actually, he should have been competent, that is the sad part. He was more interested in the hummers in the oval office from an immature intern than keeping his hands on the wheel of the nation. For all of the "it's just sex" talk, doesn't anyone on your side at least question his judgement and priorities? I know that President Bush is trying his best to do what is right, despite the moronic critics attacking his every move. Your hate has made you irreational and there is no point in trying to have a rational discussion with you slobbering leftists.

Dick DeVos has been a very successful business man. He knows what it takes to create jobs. I have met him and he is a wonderful human being, not that you even care. We will not know what kind of governor he will be for sure, but I am certian he will win in November because of the gross incompetence of our current governor. What has she ever done to be qualified to be governor? We know what she has not done; create the economic expansion that the rest of the country is enjoying. She has had her chance, now it's time for change.

Typo above, should read that Clinton should have been competent. The guy had talent that he wasted.

You’re kidding right? After a ton of childish name calling from you, you have the nerve to say, “..There is no point in trying to have a rational discussion with you slobbering leftists.” Right, I’m irrational.

To say “Dick DeVos has been a very successful business man” would be even funnier if it weren’t’ so sad that misguided people like you actually believe it.

He was born a into a billionaire family where much of the wealth was created via a pyramid scheme that hurt many people. He was then given a job in the family empire. Then another job in a different part of the empire, and then he was given control of the empire, where he laid off 1,400 people in his own backyard. Now, he gets the gop nomination with no primary or any political experience, at least that he was elected to and acutely finished. Basically, he leveraged his family's wealth to scare any competition out of the race. His wife has more political savvy and connections then he does, but the chances of her actually getting elected are not very good. You take away devos’ millions, and what do you have? An empty, expensive suit is what you have.

As for President Clinton, I would love to go back to those days when we had a budget surplus, a booming economy and peace. The only thing you heard on the news was the constant gop attacks and about Monica from the “liberal media.” No news of kids dying in Iraq everyday, constant terrorist attacks and republican scandals. Obviously, you miss them too, because after almost seven years out of office, you still talk about him.

Yea, those days were so great. Enron and other large corporations were exploiting shareholders and employees. Tech stocks were all smoke and mirrors and the bubble burst leaving many people with no investments left. Where was the Clinton justice dept??? Yea, those days were great.

If you had a half a brain you would know that Dick DeVos was not born into wealth. He had to share a bedroom with his brother while his dad started a new business in their garage. Your so dumb that your not even smart enough to know when you don't know. You are a hack.

Are you serious??? I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Dick Devos was not born into wealth? I can guarantee you this; he never earned the millions he’s spending. So I should feel sorry for dickie because he shared a bedroom with her brother? Are you serious? I feel so sorry for poor dickie, and I take back everything bad I ever said about him. While his dad was working, according to you, on a pyramid scheme in the garage, poor dickie had to share a room with his brother. Oh, the horror.
You are an idiot.
