Livingston Taxpayers' Association on Fire Millage

I moved David Hamilton and LTA's analysis on the Brighton Fire Millage to the political analysis section due to the effect on the sidebar and blog layout. It's a good read that I recommend.

If the firefighters' whole argument is that they need to make up the money lost due to the Headlee ammendment,then why are they NOT simply asking for a rollback?

They are asking for the rollback + another quarter of a mill.

Most people want support the firefighters, and most rollback efforts due in fact pass around here.

I think they are setting themselves up for failure by asking for the additional millage, not simply a rollback.
