Obama's Katrina? No. It's worse.

We all know about the BP spill, and a month later, Obama exemplifies the Peter Principle, rising to his level of absolute incompetence. The going got tough, and he showed himself to be the bitch that he is. He proved that he's not man enough for the job. Quit, and take Biden with you.

What has been Obama's response to this, weeks after the fact. He's been complaining, running his mouth, talking about asses to kick (try not to laugh), talking about this and that, and doing nothing except some damn moratorium on new drilling (almost nothing). I take that back, he got BP to put 20 Billion away in some claims fund. Wow. Good job. Between the damages to the economy, fines, and tort liability, BP's probably already on the hook for at least that in damages anyway due to negligence claims in several states. So, he did nothing.

Guess what's still happening. The oil's still leaking. I'm just a small business owner, but what do you do if you have a major leak going on. What's the first order of business. Stop the damn thing. The damage is still going on and increasing. Bush's big mistake in Katrina was poor preparations, not taking charge, and then giving away a bunch of money in handouts because he felt guilty. Obama not only isn't prepared, he hasn't responded, turned down aid, and just flys a copter and runs his mouth some more, and calls it taking charge.Worse, the coast guard just stopped Louisiana from trying to do things themselves to protect their coast.

Talk is cheap. Actions matter, and Obama's actions show what happens when you send a punk to do a man's job. While the well would have leaked anyway, different tactics should have mitigated some of the damages.

Then there's BP and Congress. What Tony Hayward needed to do is to go out on side, set up base, and make sure this thing gets fixed. When Congress had their sham hearing, he needed to show up to bitchslap them.  "I'm out there trying to do my job, while you are wasting time puffing yourselves up so you can look good for the cameras. Do you want this fixed or not? If so, I'll be going to back to work. Stop wasting my time dealing with you idiots." Hayward didn't do himself favors.

Heads need to roll at BP. Heads also need to roll in government. The first order of business is fixing the damn leak. The rest needs to come later.

SO true! I've been saying that for weeks. Obama tries to talk tough, but I'd rather have the CEO of the corporation making sure the problem is being worked on and all possible solutions are being thought of, etc. than sitting in front of Congress and the Pres just so they maintain face and can get there time on the evening news!

I’ll agree with you that Bush’s response to Katrina, actually lack of one, has become synonyms with failure and ineptness, but that’s all I’ll agree with. President Obama has done everything the government can do to address this environmental disaster.

A moratorium on a technology that if it fails no one has any idea how to correct it makes sense until we ensure they all have the proper safety equipotent that was lacking on the BP rig. It’s funny how to downplay the escrow fund, but I guess Republicans are too busy apologizing for ruining the Gulf Coast and trying to place a cap on damages to recognize the people whose livelihoods were ruined will be properly compensated, unlike the victims of the Exxon Valdez. Speaking of asses, Republicans should stop kissing BP’s.

Yes, the oil is still leaking. Government does not run oil companies. It’s funny how Republicans hate government and the private sector can do everything better, but when we let the private sector – the ones with the technology and equipment – fix their own mess, now you’re screaming that you want the government to save you. What a hypocrite.

No, only one of “Bush's big mistake in Katrina was poor preparations.” Never mind he had at least a week of warning when Obama had zero. It was also Bush’s lack of response that led to the deaths that makes Katrina synonyms with incompetence. I know you are rolling out the GOP talking points that “he turned down aid” but it’s simply not true. When you make the false charge that “the coast guard just stopped Louisiana from trying to do things themselves to protect their coast” I assume you mean the berms that were approved. I wonder, are they manufacturing sand somewhere? It had to come from somewhere. Maybe Texas, Mississippi, Alabama or Florida?

As for “giving away a bunch of money in handouts because he felt guilty” tell that to the people who lost their livelihoods and way of life just because BP wanted to increase their already huge profits.

Really, Tony Hayward is wasting time testifying before Congress? Talk about kissing BP’s ass. Are you going to apologize to BP too? If he can find time to sail in a yacht race, he can find time to testify to Congress.

No matter what the President does, including swimming to the bottom like Aqua Man and plugging the hole, Republicans like you will find something to criticizes him for.

It’s funny, he say he “showed himself to be the bitch that he is. He proved that he's not man enough for the job.” “He's been complaining, running his mouth, talking about asses to kick (try not to laugh).” But you were silent when your bully boy Bush with the silver spoon is his mouth from Yale and Harvard was talking tough about “dead or alive,” “Smoke em out” and “bring em on.”

The only bitch is you.
